During my second term at Art Center, late 1998, I developed an identity system for myself. The next step was to make a style guide. However, I wanted more then a style guide. I wanted something that would flesh out a simple ID system and turn it into a brand. Not cutting edge thinking now but at the time the difference between the two was still hard to define. Turning a designer into a brand demanded I push some boundaries and explore. This piece was a vehicle of discovery for me. Not only conceptually but, in design, materials, and production. Although it was early on in my career I still appreciate the results.
