These three Diet DrPepper spots where a labor of love and a life long dream come true. I have always been fascinated with stop motion animation and even made a few of my own shorts with my grandfathers old super 8. Needless to say when we sold the idea through I had a small freak out in my office. Working with Bent Studios on the character development and animation was simply a joy. We had originally developed the characters around the "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" Christmas special by Rankin/Bass but for the real thing, wanted to make the Characters more ownable. In the end I feel we had just enough Rankin/Bass to make the spots nostalgically familiar and delightful. While the work we did in tweaking the character design and the voice talent of people like Bill Hader (Santa & Sasquatch) give them a fresh and original feel that Diet DrPepper can call uniquely theirs.
